Share a single Internet connection
The Internet Connection Sharing feature in Windows Me lets you share a single Internet connection between all the Windows-based computers and devices on your home network, without having a separate connection for each machine. The key word is “sharing,” which means no more arguing over who gets to use the Internet.
When you use Internet Connection Sharing:
- Household members can use the Internet at the same time, whether you’re connecting through a phone line, ADSL, or cable modem.
- Each computer can use any of the Internet services it could normally use if connected directly to the Web by itself.
- Only one computer is visible to your Internet service provider, so you only need one account for all of your computers.
- The Internet is accessible to Universal Plug and Play devices on your home network, such as Web phones, smart TVs, and set-top boxes.
- Setting up Internet Connection Sharing is easy, using the Home Networking Wizard.
